Are orchids expensive?
Cindy's answer: They used to be considered way more exotic and rare...now they are in Home Depot, Trader Joes, etc and at great prices. Orchids last a long time so they might be more than the cut flowers but you will enjoy it longer.
Sally's answer: They seem to sell them at the discount stores now-I love them but I seem to kill them after awhile. I'm very bad with house plants-always refer to Joanna in this area.
Michele's answer: Ask Joanna, that's what I would do.
Joanna's answer: Not too bad ... from 14 to 30 dollars at the right place. Larger ones with more blooms can be expensive. Trader Joe's usually has a selection. The quality of the plants are all right. Whole Foods Markets have a great selection at times. Theirs are usually very nice quality. Your local nursery will have a green house with some also. They bloom for a long time, sometimes for months if the conditions in your home are right and if you select a plant that is not yet in full bloom. Choose a plant that has just one to three flowers in bloom and several more in bud still. My house is a bit dark for them but I can get a few to re-bloom. The Phalaenopsis, or moth orchid is one. There is a slipper orchid variety in several colors that blooms one at a time, but always has another bloom coming behind as the spent buds fall.
What is nice about giving an orchid plant in the place of a bouquet of flowers is that for a similar amount of money you can give a plant that will last longer than the bouquet for color in the home, I also love it for a birthday gift ... Valentines Day ... Mother's day .... Easter.

Your bare root purchases were pacekd with a small amount of Terr - Your bare root purchases were pacekd with a small amount of Terra-sorb Hydrogel, an absorbant gel that sequesters water then slowly releases moisture to protect the bare roots from drying out during transport and short-term storage. In the landscape it can be added to the root zone of water loving plants during planting to boost the moisture available to roots in dry conditions. This hydrogel holds 200-times more water than soil. If situated on the soil surface the gel does become a gooey mess and should be scooped up.Thank you for supporting Battery's gardens with your purchase! Happy gardening.
Just read Chris' memory about Cindy being pnneragt with Toby I r - Just read Chris' memory about Cindy being pnneragt with Toby I remember Joyce discussing with me what colour outfit to knit for the new arrival. She decided on pale green! We both had visions of Cindy with the new baby on the back of her bike!My best memories however are of one mad summer when we decided to go running before school. I lived in Stratford and Cindy in East Ham. We met up in Plashet Park then ran back to Cindy's for a breakfast of stewed apple and natural yogurt (very healthy). O and one more wonderful moment, when I went to Heathrow to see Cindy and Karen off on their round the world trip they flew aeroflot.I miss her loads.Chris, please get in touch if you read this!Love Janexxxxxx

Some ideas:-Is abortion right?-Is life a function of free will or fate?-Does God exist? (Hefty topic. I lead a discussion on this for a project and, oh man, was it something)-What is a person? (May sound simple, but give it some thought. Consider the idea of a soul or what a mind is. )-Is capital punishment just?-Should censorship be enforced?-What is intelligence? Hope that helps!

Why is my gravy so lumpy?
The flour can clump up. Best to strain your gravy and use a whisk while adding flour.
