Fettucini Alfredo With Broccoli and Peas

 This is a classic with some added color and flavor.  An easy way to add some more nutrition to this decadent pasta.

  • 1 lb dry egg fettucini
  • 2 cups cream or half and half
  • 1 1/2 cups grated parmesan or romano cheese
  • 1 stick butter
  • chopped parsley for garnish
  • 1 head broccoli
  • 1 cup peas 
  • Cook pasta in large pot of salted boiling water til el dente.  Drain and set aside.
  • In separate pot steam brocolli about 8 minutes and place in ice water bath to stop cooking and retain bright green colors
  • In large sauce pan melt butter
  • Add cooked pasta and toss
  • Add cream and cheese salt and pepper and toss til combined
  • Add cooked broccoli and raw peas and toss
  • Garnish with parsley
