Cedar Plank Salmon With Dill Sauce

 This is so easy and festive to make.  It works great for a party!  

  • One fresh salmon filet about 2lbs and 1 and 1/2 inches thick with skin on
  • salt and pepper to season fish
  • 1 lemon sliced
  • One cedar plank
  • For sauce:
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonaise
  • 2/3 cup fresh dil chopped
  • 3/4 cup diced cucumber
  • salt and pepper
  • juice of i/2 lemon  
  • Soak cedar plank in water for at least 1 hour (can even do it over night) 
  • Preheat barbecue to medium heat
  • Wash salmon filet under running cold water and pat dry
  • Season fish with a generous amount of salt and pepper
  • Place salmon on cedar plank skin side down and place on grill
  • Cover and cook 20 minutes
  • Let sit 5 minutes before serving
  • For dill sauce....combine mayonaise, sour cream, fresh dill. lemon juice. and salt and pepper.  (Can be prepared up to a day in advance)
  • Garnish salmon with lemons and serve hot or cold with dill sauce
