Brussel Sprouts with Bacon

Ingredients:
  •  1 large container of Brussels sprouts
  • 1/2 vegetable or chicken bouillon cube
  • 4 pieces of bacon
  • 1 teaspoon crushed garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt and pepper 
Directions:
  • wash and trim outer leaves of the Brussels sprouts
  • steam in vegetable or chicken stock using the bouillon cube until tender
  • remove from pot and cut into quarters
  •  cook bacon in fry pan, remove and crumble bacon
  • pour off half the bacon fat and add oil to pan
  • add garlic and saute for 30 seconds on high
  • add Brussels sprouts to pan and cook until the sprouts are slightly browned-contstantly turning
  • add crumbled bacon, salt and pepper
