French Dip Sandwich

 A simple and elegant sandwich

Ingredients:
  • 1 pound of thinly sliced cook filet or roast beef
  •  4 pieces of swiss cheese
  • 2 cups arugula lettuce
  • 1 large container of beef broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 shallot clove  minced
  • 1/4 cup of cream sherry
  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon dijon style mustard
  • 1 large baguette
Directions:
  • combine stock, garlic shallots and sherry in a small saucepan.  Bring to a boil and lower and cook for 10 minutes
  •  slice bagquette into four even piece and slice open
  • mix mustard, may and horseradish together and spread evenly over in the bread slices
  • add arugula, meat and swiss cheese to each bread slice, close sandwich
  • place each piece in a panini maker and slightly push down and cook until the meat is warm. cheese is melted and the bread is  crusty
  • serve on a plate with a small bowl of the warm beef broth for dipping
